Adventure Force Quadstrike Review

Buzz Bee still has a few blasters available in Walmart’s Adventure Force line; this year sees the addition of the Quadstrike, a two-pack of blasters firing four darts each. The pistols follow the general shell design of the Mayhem line, but in bright colors and without all the extra holes. The blasters themselves aren’t anything extra special, but they don’t need to be. They just have one job – fire darts far for ages 8+ – and they do it well!

Playing with a Pair

The Quadstrike is a simple blaster to operate. Like other Buzz Bee multi-shot pistols, it features a rotating plunger tube, which lines up to fire a different barrel on each priming motion. Here, the plunger tube is both clear and exposed, allowing the user to see the plunger and spring inside the blaster.

The blaster features a relatively short and curved grip. In an effort to compensate, the priming handle for the blaster is offset so as to not slam into the back of your hand when operating the blaster. There’s a tactical rail on top, although it appears to be for Buzz Bee style attachments.

Overall, it’s a simple blaster that’s sized mainly for children.

Performance

The Quadstrike blaster fired 74fps on average in my testing, both with the included Accublast darts and other Adventure Force darts. Rate of fire sits at around two darts per second, since you’re limited to pulling back a plunger and firing the blaster, instead of rapidly firing a pump-action or slam-fire mechanism.

Internals and Modification

The Quadstrike is easy to open up, with a few screws around the entire blaster. On the inside, there’s a rotation mechanism on top of the plunger tube. When you prime the blaster, it pulls back a separate assembly with a spring-loaded index. That interacts with ridges on the plunger tube, rotating it. The holes at the front of the plunger tube then align with the various barrels, firing them in order.

There’s room for a spring replacement, should a modder decide to mess with the blaster. Additionally, it would be easy to model alternative barrel assemblies to fire other ammo types. However, I’m short on time due to upcoming vacations. So I’d welcome it if other people did the work this time around!

Final Thoughts

The Quadstrike works as a simple dart pistol. It doesn’t do anything exceptional, but it also doesn’t need to. It exists to do a basic job, and does so without issue. If you’re looking for simple options, this two-pack is a good candidate.
