Event Calendar Updates: Humans v Zombies Everywhere!
September 30, 2025It’s been a while since I posted about community events…but there are a TON of them, and I’m sure I’ll be leaving some out. So just bear with me, and I’ll try to cover some of the fun things that are happening in October, be they against the undead or competitive players.
Maryland Foam Alliance: Events All Month! (Maryland)
Maryland is always having Nerf wars, and October is no exception…but there’s always the fun Halloween theme for everything. Check the website for the Maryland Foam Alliance to see what events are happening – they’re on various weekends throughout the month, with the Nerf Herders and Southern Maryland House of Foam games on Saturdays, and DMV Nerfers on a Sunday. The Nerf Herders game info, of course, is in the banner image.
Bobcat Blasters Fallout HvZ: October 9-11 (Ohio)
Of course, I have to mention one of the fun games from my own state. Bobcat Blasters is the club running things at Ohio University in Athens, OH, and they have three days of missions happening. More accurately, it’s two nights plus an entire day (and I’m sure Thursday night is geared more towards campus locals, though I’m likely to drop by and be annoying). In any case, if you’re in the area and want to attend, be sure to register for the game!
Also, check the Facebook page and bother the mods if needed. I hear there’s a Discord page somewhere…
Ragnarocktoberfest 2025 – Oct 10-12 (San Jose, CA)
If you’re on the West Coast (or can travel), the games here are work attending. Friday sees a Blaster Expo, while Saturday has The Stalking Dead, a unique HvHvZ game that’s always exciting. Sunday hosts both a King of the Hill Tournament for registered teams and casual Superstock Nerf Wars on the side.
Make sure to read the rules, buy tickets for attending (they rent out the grounds of a school in San Jose for the event, after all), and have fun! It’s a western theme this year, so I imagine you’re going to see a lot of people dressing the part for this event.
Mall Mutation Madness: Hardcore 5! Oct 18-19 (St. Louis, MO)
This one is always a doozy! Sadly, I won’t be able to attend this year, but if you want an HvZ that runs all through the night (Saturday, Oct. 18 to Sunday, Oct. 19), this is the place to go. You’re inside a mall just outside St. Louis, MO, with a Human v Human v Zombie game going on the entire time. You and your squad (be it friends you came with, or people you join the day of the game) are competing to complete objectives, using experience collected to level up both class abilities and loadouts. Zombies, however, are doing the same, and as the night progresses and more humans fall, the zombies get harder to kill. Do you make it far enough to escape, or do you join the horde – and convert all your human levels into zombie levels in the process?
Be sure to purchase tickets, read the rules document thoroughly, and follow the links in the rules document for the FRAG Society Discord and other sources of information!
Goucher College HvZ 20th Anniversary Game: Oct 24-26 (Maryland)
Goucher College is having an entire weekend celebrating the 20th anniversary of HvZ, with area clubs helping to put on a fun event for all! Tickets are free, but since there’s limited space on campus, you do need reserve one. More information can be found in the Goucher College HvZ Discord Server, where they’ll be posting updates, game rules, and more.
They’re also still looking for sponsors, should you like to support the event!
