Xshot Insanity Blitz Hammer Review
August 2, 2026The Xshot Insanity line continues to expand! This time, it features a springer that’s not so original, but still reliable.
The Blitz Hammer, like the Dart Zone Magnum before it, features a 40-dart drum and slamfire. However, between its differences from the Magnum and all the extra attachments and possibilities, the Blitz Hammer should prove to be a worthy successor.
Wait, I’ve Seen This Before!
The Blitz Hammer features a removable 40-dart drum; the drum also has a ring of storage slots on the inside. Installing the drum consists of aligning the back of the drum to its peg, then pushing in the front of the drum while sliding it in from the side. The spring-loaded bits are evident, as is the indentation in the shell. If you’re still confused, the instructions will be handy.
The Blitz Hammer also features an adjustable stock; it’s superior to that of the Magnum, in my opinion. It’s a proprietary design, but there’s no real need for a standard stock attachment point here.
Two picatinny rails sit on the sides of the blaster, as does one rail up top. Use these to hold the two dart storage attachments and to connect your blaster to others (there is a dual Picatinny connector included).
Use and Performance
Operating the blaster is simple. You can pull back the top priming slide to prime the blaster, push it back forward, and pull the trigger to fire. Alternatively, you can hold the trigger down and move that slide as fast as possible to slamfire.
With the included darts, I averaged 80fps, at three darts per second. That’s plenty respectable for regular play, as well as Humans v Zombies! I’d have footage…but I forgot to turn on my camera during gameplay. *facepalm*
Internals
The inside of the Blitz Hammer is exactly what I expected, given past blasters that Xshot has made. The slamfire mechanism is essentially the same as that in the Turbo Fire, with a dual catch system in place. If you use the blaster normally, the plunger interacts with the standard catch, being released by the trigger. In slamfire, a spring-loaded secondary catch is depressed by a ridge in the blaster shell at the end of the priming motion.
The main spring WILL want to pop the plunger and plunger tube out of place. You’ve been warned.
Final Thoughts
The Xshot Insanity Blitz Hammer is a worthy blaster for use in your local dart wars, especially now that the Magnum has largely been taken off Target shelves. If you do anything at stock velocities, grab one for the collection. At the very least, you can add it to that monstrous interconnected pile of Insanity blasters you already have!
