Coming Next April: Hookstown Outbreak HvZ! Details and Fundraising
October 18, 2026
There are several Midwest Humans v Zombies events happening next spring (hint: you should save Memorial Day weekend for Survival Fest!). But for this post, let’s focus on a game in Pennsylvania!
For context: the after-Covid resurgence of Humans v. Zombies saw several college clubs and organizations arise in western Pennsylvania, including Grove City College, Geneva College, and Pittsburgh Technical College. I enjoyed the time I got to play at PTC, including trying to get a really long sequence of Simon Says correct for an objective!
However, not everything lasts, including colleges, as it turns out. PTC closed due to a combination of lower enrollment and terrible management, but individuals from the HvZ club continued playing locally, as well as moderating games around the area, alongside the various club organizations. Kudos to Kevin and Derrick, among many other moderators and players, for keeping the game alive!
Now, they have ambitions for a game to take place at a fairgrounds in far western PA next year, about 1/2 an hour from the Pittsburgh International Airport, and 5 minutes from the Ohio border. The fundraising is already over the initial hump, so there will in fact be a game! Even so, further fundraising helps to lower or eliminate ticket costs, amongst other things.
If you have the ability, feel free to donate funding! And be sure to mark your interest on the Facebook event page. More info to come!
