Are you SCRD? Silly Tactical Gear Kickstarter Is Now Online!

If you’ve been watching social media from either Containment Crew or Silverfox Industries, you’ve seen posts referring to new gear and different shades…and infection outbreaks. Some people even found the Kickstarter early based on the clues and got in on the Super Early specials.

Officially, though, today is launch day for the SCRD Kickstarter! This line of brightly colored tactical gear is aimed at bringing back the sillier side of the hobby, seeing as so much tactical gear in existence (be it from airsoft, paintball, or more recent foam-flinging setups) is in dark colors. We’re adults with toys, after all, so why not look like it and embrace the fun?

Level One Complete!

As of launch day, the initial fundraising goal has already been reached! From this point on, it’s all about reaching further goals to unlock more (and sillier) options.

The gear will come in either orange or blue to start, but there are fundraising goals that will allow backers to choose new colors – first on the list are purple and pink. Guessing by the color pattern in one of the text pictures, however, I could see red coming after that.

There are also minor goals in mind that are more for entertainment than actually getting gear options. For example, there are things like “Ryan and Charles Drag Bobololo to Endwar” and making Ryan and Charles pick each other’s Endwar loadouts (and I’m quite certain they won’t be merciful). At the end of that list, if $25000 is somehow reached by the end of the Kickstarter, they’ll even agree to making a 2025 Nerfers calendar, in all its silly, nerdy, embarrassing glory. And there are already several people who have committed to doing calendar layouts if that goal is met. Including yours truly…

If you’re at all interested, check the Kickstarter link at the top of the page! There are backing levels both for individuals and squads of five, should you and your friends all want to get gear together.

So go ahead, consider playing those Humans v Zombies games or park wars using gear that signals to everyone around you “Ok, these people are weird, but they’re having tons of fun – let’s ask if we can join!”

After all, when it comes to foam flinging, there’s no reason to get too serious about it!
