Xshot Piston Pump AEB Hits Social Media
April 23, 2025After a long period of work + managing life with the wife on vacation, I’m…kinda back? At the very least I’m catching up on posting. And what a time for hobbyists, because Xshot is already putting their social media marketing strategy into high gear with various Instagram/Tiktok/Youtube personalities getting preview samples!
So far things are looking good – but there is a bit of a downside: a price increase to $90.
Lots of Excitement
Whether it was a live stream showing off the blaster as soon as it arrived, or overview videos posted shortly after, the past few days have been all Xshot. There are other blasters that got sent out (the Insanity Smoking Barrel and a new gel ball blaster), but one item was clearly the one to be excited about.
The Piston Pump looks really cool, and fairly easy to operate. It takes Talon magazines, has a 2S Li-Ion pack that sits in the stock, fires from a closed bolt position (aka fires dart, then reloads), and easily hits 150s-160s in fps, depending on dart type. It’s also possible to swap out the spring, should someone actually make alternative springs. I know that the blaster is a bit heavy at four and a half pounds, but a spring downgrade that would let me dump magazines at HvZ would be great.
Unfortunately, due to ongoing political issues with things from China, we’re going to see a price increase. From an email Beret received:
- “Motorized Piston Pump” is the official name.
- The sample is the same as what will be available in stores/online
- The blaster is still slated for a June 9th release
- The price will be $89.99 USD for the US
I will inevitably buy one for review, of course, but the price increase is a bit disappointing. Granted, that’s what the Siren Blink was going for at release, and that was a fairly innovative pro flywheeler for the price. So if the blaster ends up being as durable as claimed, it’ll be worth it. But it’s still high enough to be investment I have to plan for, as opposed to finding it on a shelf and buying on a whim.
