Nerf Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Blaster (2026) Review
October 29, 2026No one expects all promotional blasters to be winners. After all, for toy companies, it’s less of a time for innovation and more of a time for cashing in. That being said, I was not impressed with this year’s Nerf Ninja Turtles blasters.
Hint: If You Have to Find One That Works…
This was actually a thing that made me try to avoid dealing with this blaster. At several Walmarts with them on the shelves, where you could freely manipulate the blasters in their packaging, many of the blasters couldn’t even catch. Perhaps that’s a batch issue, or something to do with their exposed-to-kids nature, but that didn’t give great vibes.
The blaster itself is a simple pull-back blaster, with a two-dart Smart AR assembly. It’s constructed of newer-style plastic, with paint applied to each side for the character and the melting pizza. Depending on where you buy the blaster, you can potentially get one for all four turtles…or just one with your favorite colors.
Pull back the T-pull handle (Is it coming out the turtle’s butt? Who knows!) and fire. Repeat. Now reload. It’s that simple.
Performance and Internals
The best I managed over the chronograph at home was 55fps on average out of the top barrel. However, there is a big caveat. I tried lots of darts, both old and new, and some darts just jumped out at 20-30fps ranges. The barrel setup seems to be very sensitive to either dart diameter or stiffness, so your performance with existing ammo is questionable. That being sad, you can at least pull the handle back quickly and fire the second dart if you need to.
Inside the blaster isn’t anything extraordinary. It’s the same style “no o-ring” plastic head that Nerf introduced with the Alpha Strike line.
Last Thoughts
Doing a TMNT blaster is a cute idea…but the cuteness wears off quickly with this blaster. Leave it on the shelf?
