Dart Zone Max Outlaw, Thunderbolt Announced!

Weekends like this make me jealous. I already had plans, but actual new blasters themselves made an appearance at Awesomecon, at Al the Geek’s booth! Fortunately, Dart Zone also released a new podcast episode showing off the blasters. So it’s not all bad on my end!

Expect these blasters at the end of July/beginning of August at Target!

Meet the Outlaw

The big news, of course, is a hammer-primed blaster shooting ~120fps! Dart type can make it shoot higher or lower, but that’s still insane performance to see in such a compact platform.

Unlike the Deuce Pro, where the cylinder served as a dart holder for a standard breech, the Outlaw’s cylinder actually serves as part of the barrel! The front portion of the barrel retracts against the cylinder on the trigger pull to seal off the system, placing the dart much closer to the plunger tube and allowing this kind of performance. Of course, the cylinders can be swapped!

Expect this to be around $30. Should you want a lower power spring for HvZ games or younger users, there will be a spring option on Dart Zone’s website.

Thunderbolt and Lightning, Very Very Frightning

The other big news was a new, mag-fed, standard-layout flywheel blaster. The Thunderbolt takes the Spectrum platform and makes small improvements here and there, ranging from aesthetic choices to an N-strike stock attachment point with a buffer tube stock to a larger, translucent magazine.

This is also expected to be at Target, and for $25. Not a bad deal at all for an updated flywheel platform.
